I came across this tour on groupon – I encourage you to check out groupon for tours. This is our second time using groupon for a Chicago tour. This tour was two for the price of one. I thought it was interesting, but I don’t think I would have paid full price for it. Our tour guide was awesome! And I’ll most likely use this company again… Because we’ll be back!
This was the coldest morning of our entire trip – we took a cab from our hotel to East Wacker. It was too cold to walk over.
Pedway – is a system of underground walkways to keep you out of the harsh winter elements in Chicago. They are not open 24/7 – some close during the weekends…so make sure you know the schedule.
Since it was a beautiful (compared to the day before) day, our tour guide took us above the ground for some of our tour – this is The Aqua Condo & Apts. The Aqua is an amazing 86 story mixed-use skyscraper.
Over to the right (in the first photo) – there’s a stairway (not in the photo – sorry about that) & in this stairway there was a murder. The story was… One of Al Capone’s “salesmen” didn’t pay up – so he was offed, whacked, etc… in the stairway. The “salesman” sold “protection” & owed Al a few bucks. Al was sending a message to the other “salesmen!”
Chicago Public Library – worlds largest Tiffany art-glass dome
This is the floor – can you imagine installing all of those tiny tiles? Yeah, me either… It’s pretty though!
Daley Plaza – during the Christkindlmarket
State of Illinois – James R Thompson Center – we stopped here last year on our Loop Art & Arch Tour.
We walked through Macy’s on State – our 2nd time there this trip!
The ceiling is beyond beautiful! Read about the Tiffany ceiling here – Marshall Fields
I attached links, that I feel will best describe the photos I took while on the pedway tour. But – there’s more than that – our guide was very knowledgeable about the pedway and if you get lost just wait for the next tour to come through! LOL!! If you’re in the Chicago area for fun or live there year round – you need to take a PedWay tour with Chicago’s Finest Tours.
After the tour – we walked over to the Christkindlmarket – Raye picked out the cat pyramid and I picked the mini wood nutcracker.
Pyramid of Cats!

I love seeing the city through your eyes! And Pedway tour is going on my list for 2013. Maybe in February when it is dark, dreary and maybe snowy!
Thank you! I know you’d enjoy the pedway tour! I’d like to do the pedway pub crawl
