After we checked in the hotel and recharged our phones – and bundled up… We headed out to Macy’s! Once known as Marshall Fields!
It was cold and a little rainy on the walk over. Did I mention – Chicago and the surrounding areas were bracing for a “blizzard” of some sorts. I heard flights were cancelled later in the day.
We decided to have lunch at The Walnut Room – I had no idea how large this restaurant was… And we still had about an hour wait. During our wait, we did a little shopping…but didn’t find anything that we needed. Everything we “wanted” was probably under the tree at home anyway… Plus we really didn’t have space in our carry on to purchase much to bring back to Texas.
But we did hear carolers – and spotted them up above
The tree that sits in The Walnut Room
Sadly our table would not be next to the tree…but far enough away that we couldn’t see it while we ate lunch – lol
This was our view
I hate to be ugly during Christmas… But the food and the service was kinda crappy.
And this would be our first of three visits to Macy’s on State this trip! On our walk back to our hotel it started to sleet…we were frozen by the time we made it back.
EDITED FOR DAWN –
The Tiffany ceiling in Macy’s

Post the picture of the Tiffany ceiling! It’s spectacular. And I’m sure the food is crappy cuz it is no longer Marshall Fields!
Haha I didn’t take one the first trip to Macy’s – but I’ll add it for you
Thank you!
[...] there’s more! After our chocolate tour we headed back to – you guessed it… Macy’s on State! This makes our third trip! Raye wanted to do a little shopping, but couldn’t find anything. [...]
