First of all – I never explained last years photos – or the inspiration. So – for a year the post sat, with just photos. I actually forgot to go back and update it – I’m a slacker, what can I say. LAZY.
So here’s last years review, a whole year later – Happy 13th Birthday!
Raye decided she wanted the same culinary treats as last year. She also decided to share the party with another friend. They actually decided together, they wanted last years culinary treats. I used last years photos as my guide – that eased my prep a lot! Maddie’s mom helped a LOT!! I honestly don’t think I could have pulled it all off this year with out her help and Justin’s help. Thank You So Much!
I only have a few photos of the food – I only took a few photos of the pool party. S L A C K E R!!
During my, Please-Kill-Me…trip to the Walmarts… I found Campfire Marshmallows, I’d never seen these before, they were HUGE! See photo below! LOL Justin dipped them in aqua melting chocolate and white nonpareils. I came across the Dipped Marshmallows – on the Chickabug blog via pinterest… Imagine that! haha
We made the treat stand – you can see how we made that here…maybe not! haha… Made ya look, didn’t I? Looks like I forgot to explain the how to’s. I’ll get back to that…promise! Or, I can give you the quick, non-explantory, get to it fast…no photos – directions. The plastic plates are from Target and the glass vases are from Michaels and you’ll need gorilla glue – total cost maybe $10.
I folded 45 napkins and tied 45 Life Saver mints to the napkins with hemp – and we DID.NOT. use them – how’s that for a huge oops! And…yes, this was an idea from pinterest – The Princess and The Frog – I love them – and we’ll use them. Truth is, I started the birthday menu a little different than it ended and forgot to cross the napkins off the list.
Fresh Strawberries – I bought them at the store. I did not get inspired via pinterest. Shocker, I know.
Another treat stand – with a bowl. I think I’m addicted to making the treat stands. They’re cute, but I have no place to store them! LOL The dip in the bowl is my daughters favorite (she got the recipe from a friend) – it’s … ready for this? It’s marshmallow cream and cream cheese! Equal parts – one jar and one package … yummy! I’m serious, it’s heaven in a bowl…sticky heaven, delicious heaven!! Go now and add marshmallow cream and cream cheese to your grocery list! Oh, and fruit! Or spoons!
The girls invited over 60 friends, and I think after everyone showed up, we had close to 40 kids here. You’ve never known it, they were so polite and thankful! My daughter has a great group of friends and I’m so relieved with her starting high school – it makes a difference.
