I bet you thought this would be a post about food? Nope – well, not real food…but, towel food! Six years ago we cruised the Med on the Carnival Liberty. Let’s just say it was a cruise of a life time. And we bought many souvenirs, including this towel of Italian pastas. It stayed folded on a shelf for years – apparently, five years. I’m good at buying things, having ideas, and putting them on hold for many years. This blog is proof – This blog also keeps me busy with these projects.
Last year, I decided it was time to get it done. We bought the wood and the Kreg – what is that? Go to Young House Love and search for kreg – John has accomplished many projects with this tool. We learned how to use it by reading about their projects. They have step by step instructions – I don’t. I just have photos of my finished project.
I sprayed painted the frame with oil rubbed bronze – I attached the “pasta towel” to the back with thumb tacks – and hung it in the kitchen. It’s not hanging in the kitchen in this photo – just clearing that up.
And it stayed that way – until I bought the dining room paint. I painted one thin coat of Copen blue. Why it looks green here, I dunno.
After it dried – I lightly sanded around the edges. And hung it back in the kitchen. Kitchen update is coming soon.
See the little purple guy sitting there? My daughter painted him years ago – he’s sitting on the vintage intercom…we can play music cd’s in all of our rooms – that’s hot!
